Get a Face-Lift by Networking

Did you know that this week is International Networking Week?
Boy, they have a week for everything now.
But, seriously, networking on an international level has taken years off my life!  I smile more, I feel more relaxed, and I have dreams for the future; all because of the networking that I have done with the WAGR families around the world.
  • Do you suffer from a chronic illness?
  • Do you have a child with special needs?
  • Have you experienced the loss of someone close to you?
  • Have you gone through a traumatic experience, and you haven't really had the chance to examine it?
I highly recommend finding a group of people who, in person or on-line, can relate to you, can provide support for you as you share your experiences and they share theirs.
I belong to several networking communities on Facebook~WAGR families, Aniridia families, Special Needs families, Bloggers, Christians...
Caution:  Do NOT underestimate the power of "skin".  It really is helpful to be part of a face-to-face group as well.  That's why WAGR Weekend is so important to our family.  Being around all of the kids as they play and the parents as we chat; there's just really nothing like it.

So, give yourself a free face-lift and get connected!

Questions to Consider:
What groups are out there who could support you?
What questions would you have for them?  What would you hope to gain?
Would face-to-face support work for you, or is your schedule one that would work best with on-line support?

P.S.  Part I  What do you think of the new design of my blog?  Is it distracting when I change layouts and design?  I, personally, like change...but some may not.  Let me know you thoughts by commenting below, tweeting me, or commenting on Facebook!

P.S. Part II  My first written contribution to the blog Comfort in the Midst of Chaos posted this morning!  Check it out!

  1. I like the new look....it has a warmer more personal feel to it.
And also...I'd just like to say that there are plenty of people out there who do not have special needs kids or haven't suffered a loss or had some kind of trauma that really still need support! We all need support, friendship, fellowship...whatever you want to call it. And even if there is not a "reason" for needing it....the human condition is enough! Just wanted to say "out loud" that it's okay to ask for help even if your life is rather typical it can still be overwhelming if you feel like you are alone.
Keep up the good work on the blog! Love reading it!

    1. Great! Thanks for the feedback. Regarding everyone needing support, that's why I wrote some additional questions to consider~because we are all "dealing with" or "recovering from" something! We just need to connect! Glad I have a wonderful group of women like you, Reba with whom I can connect. :)
